Water Conservation Measures

The EPA’s Principles for Greener Cleanups has served as a foundation for planning and remediation at the Beede Waste Oil Superfund Site. On Earth Day, the Beede Site Group hosted a monthly virtual lunch and learn focused on one core element of greener cleanups – water.

Woodard & Curran’s Project Manager Cathy Rockwell and Environmental Engineer Keri Lauer discussed the best practices leveraged to reduce the amount of water consumed during cleaning, optimize water reuse, and restore the aquifer to project adjacent Kelly Brook and residential wells in the area. They also shared tips for homeowners to reduce the 82 gallons of water used by an average American each day.
